Ingrid's been too busy (lazy) recently to update, so I'm helping out on this entry. We went to NY at the start of OCtober to pick apples, then I went off to Churchill to take pictures of Polar Bears, and then we did another trip to NY in early November so Ingrid could attend the Machinima Awards (the Mackies). Ingrid got to travel to some of the less scenic bits of NY not normally on any tours - through Long Island City and the Queensbridge housing projects, then through Astoria to the American Museum of the Moving Image where the awards were held. She got practiced at travelling by gypsy cab and calling and negotiating rates with the mostly non-english speaking drivers.
We also took this opportunity to take Bunky around to do proper city stuff so that he has a hope of being a real New Yorker someday. :) Which is to say we took him for his first ride on the subway (into Manhattan), a quick walk crosstown to the Central Park Zoo, and then a ride in a yellow cab downtown to the Village for a pizza lunch. After that, it was a quick trek up to the Strand and the Forbidden Planet, then to Union Square for another ride on the subway (uptown this time), and finally over the East River on the Tramway to get home just in time to pack and leave for the airport.
